In Uttarakhand's Tadigam village, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel assisted in carrying the bier of a 100-year-old woman to the crematorium. The village, located on the Indo-Nepal border, faces severe out-migration of young men seeking employment, leaving behind only elderly residents. SSB personnel not only carried the body but also helped with the cremation rites. Villagers cite a lack of livelihood and agricultural challenges as reasons for the migration, which has significantly reduced the village's population over two decades.
