Mumbai's air quality significantly worsened on Sunday morning, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 197, categorizing it as unhealthy. High levels of PM2.5 and PM10 particulate matter were recorded, posing health risks. Despite clear skies and temperatures around 22-23 degrees Celsius, low wind speeds and mist prevented pollutant dispersal, trapping them near ground level. Health experts advise limiting outdoor activities, particularly in the early mornings.
