Delhi experienced its best air quality in seven years in 2025, excluding the COVID-affected year of 2020. The city recorded the lowest average PM2.5 and PM10 levels and the second-highest number of 'Good' to 'Satisfactory' AQI days since 2018. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) credited sustained policy measures and coordinated actions for this improvement, despite challenging meteorological conditions in December. This marks a significant reduction in 'Severe' AQI days compared to previous years.
