Arunachal Fashion Week 2026 Launches, Highlights Textile Sector Initiatives

Arunachal Fashion Week 2026 began in Naharlagun, marking five years of the Artisans' Movement, which connects traditional weavers, designers, and young creatives. The eight-day event showcases indigenous textiles and contemporary fashion, highlighting the state's production of nearly 69 metric tonnes of Eri, Muga, and Mulberry silk annually, employing over 34,000 people. Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced a Rs 25-crore sericulture package and plans for a Creative Economy Cell to support artists, emphasizing women's significant role in the textile sector through numerous self-help groups.
