A study by Jawaharlal Nehru University researchers has identified high levels of antibiotic-resistant superbugs, including methicillin-resistant staphylococci (MRS), in Delhi's indoor and outdoor air, posing a public health risk. Samples showed significantly elevated staphylococcal loads, with MRS peaking in winter. Notably, 73% of MRS isolates displayed multidrug resistance, indicating widespread resistance to common antibiotics. The research highlights airborne microbial contamination as a growing concern in urban settings.
