Nine MBBS Students Suspended and Expelled at Doon Medical College for Ragging

Nine MBBS students at Doon Medical College in Dehradun were suspended and expelled following an Anti-Ragging Committee inquiry into assaults on two junior students on January 12. Two students face two-month class suspensions, hostel and internship expulsions, and fines of Rs 50,000 each. Seven others received one-month class suspensions and three-month hostel expulsions. Principal Dr. Geeta Jain reaffirmed the college's strict no-ragging policy, while Uttarakhand's Medical Minister Dhan Singh Rawat called the incident unfortunate and urged strict measures to uphold discipline.
