A fire in Darogapathar village, Dimapur, on New Year's Eve rendered four families homeless after their thatched houses were completely gutted. The blaze, suspected to be caused by firecrackers, broke out around midnight on January 1. Firefighters responded promptly, but could not save the homes or belongings. No injuries or casualties were reported.
