In Vrindavan, over 200 widows from five ashrams celebrated Holi at the historic Gopinath Temple, marking a departure from traditional restrictions that barred widows from festival participation. Organized by Sulabh International since 2013, the event featured devotional songs, dancing, and the use of over 1,000 kg of flowers and 700 kg of gulal. This celebration reflects growing social acceptance and offers widows a sense of hope and inclusion, addressing their historical marginalization and poverty in the region.
