Kerala Police Launch 'Nirbhaya Nisha' to Enhance Nighttime Safety for Women

On March 8, 2026, Kerala Police launched the 'Nirbhaya Nisha' project to enhance safety for women traveling at night between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The initiative includes rapid police response through integrated emergency systems, increased night patrols, and technological tools like SOS apps and AI-enabled safety poles. The project was inaugurated in Kozhikode and Ernakulam, featuring community events and deployment of women-led patrol vehicles to support women’s secure mobility during late hours.
