Early Morning Queues in Bengaluru Reflect High Demand for Authentic Mysore Silk Sarees

Long queues have formed outside Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) showrooms in Bengaluru from as early as 4 am, as demand for authentic Mysore silk sarees exceeds supply. KSIC, holding exclusive rights and the Geographical Indication tag, faces production limits due to a shortage of trained artisans and manufacturing capacity. Sarees priced between Rs 23,000 and Rs 2.5 lakh are sold via a token system, with one saree per customer to manage demand.
