Asad Khan, a resident of Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district, has reportedly embraced Hinduism in Kashi, adopting the name Atharva Tyagi. The ceremony, involving purification and Vedic rituals performed by 21 Brahmins on a boat in the Ganges River, was facilitated by local Brahmin groups and the Hanuman Sena. Khan stated he made the decision due to his long-held desire to follow Sanatan Dharma and difficulties he faced with his previous name and religious practices, citing incidents affecting Hindus in Bangladesh as an influence.
