
A golden retriever named Phoenix fell into an icy pond in Westerly, Rhode Island, on Thursday morning. Firefighters from the Watch Hill and Misquamicut Fire Departments responded, with one rescuer entering the frozen water to save the dog. Both the dog and the rescuers were brought safely to shore and were reported to be doing well, with no immediate injuries noted for the dog or hypothermia for the firefighters.
