India aims to achieve HIV control by December 1, 2027, under Mission AIDS Suraksha, focusing on 219 high-priority districts nationwide, including 60 in the Northeastern states excluding Sikkim. A three-day regional review meeting in Guwahati launched the first of 11 'Suraksha Sankalp Karyashala' workshops to strengthen district-level planning and accelerate progress. Key districts in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya are under intensified monitoring to address the region's unique epidemiological challenges.
