Kerala Medical College Teachers Suspend Strike After Government Assurances on Pay Arrears

The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers' Association (KGMCTA) has temporarily suspended its strike and boycott of outpatient clinics following government assurances to promptly disburse 18 months of pending pay revision arrears, with the remaining 39 months to be paid based on legal advice. The Kerala High Court emphasized the need to maintain uninterrupted essential healthcare services during the dispute. The government has also taken steps to address staffing and pay anomalies in medical colleges.
