EPS-95 Pensioners to Protest for Minimum Pension Hike at Jantar Mantar

Pensioners under the Employees' Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS-95) plan a three-day protest at Jantar Mantar from March 9 to 11, led by the EPS-95 National Agitation Committee's National President, Commander Ashok Raut. Representing around 8.1 million retirees from various sectors, they demand a minimum monthly pension hike to Rs 7,500, along with dearness allowance and free medical care. Despite contributing for 30-35 years, the average pension remains about Rs 1,171. The protest coincides with the Budget Session of Parliament, aiming to highlight financial hardships faced by elderly pensioners and seek government attention to their demands.
