Deepak Das, a 58-year-old tailor from Makum, has voluntarily regulated traffic at Digboi Road for 26 years without pay, assisting police daily from 2 pm to 8 pm. His dedication, highlighted by a January 29 report in The Assam Tribune, earned him public recognition and a felicitation from Tinsukia's Senior Superintendent of Police Mayank Kumar on February 22. Despite the honor, Deepak emphasizes that public convenience remains his primary motivation.
