Seven Class X students at a Maharashtra Social Welfare Department-run hostel in Nashik have been apprehended for allegedly sexually abusing younger hostelmates over the past six to seven months. The victims, reportedly from Classes V to VII, accused the older students of assault and extortion, including the use of sedatives. The hostel superintendent has been booked for failing to report the abuse. Authorities have shut the hostel and initiated independent inquiries, with the accused students sent to a remand home.
