Idu Mishmi Community Launches Research Ethics Code to Protect Cultural Rights

The Idu Mishmi Cultural and Literary Society (IMCLS) has launched the second edition of the Idu Mishmi Code on Research Ethics (IMCRE). This guideline aims to protect the community from exploitation by ensuring free, prior, and informed consent, transparency, and respect for customary laws and traditional values. Developed based on international and constitutional laws, the IMCRE complements existing regulations and adheres to UN-recognized ethical standards, seeking to prevent misinformation and safeguard community rights during research in Idu Mishmi-inhabited regions.
