Ludhiana's carcass plant relocation faces a roadblock as a joint inspection committee ruled out two shortlisted sites, Balloke and Bhattian villages, due to insufficient land. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has mandated the relocation of the controversial plant, which has faced local opposition since its construction. The NGT previously fined the Municipal Corporation for non-compliance and has set a January 12 hearing, increasing pressure on authorities to find a suitable 25-acre site.
