Sri Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara in Uttarakhand to Reopen for Pilgrims on May 23

The Sri Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara in Uttarakhand will reopen for devotees on May 23, as announced by the shrine's management trust after a meeting with the state Chief Secretary. This Sikh pilgrimage site, located at 15,200 feet in Chamoli, remains closed during winter due to heavy snowfall. The trust, coordinating with the state government, provides free accommodation and meals at dharamshalas along the route. Pilgrims are not allowed overnight stays at the gurdwara due to altitude and facility constraints.
