Maharashtra Municipalities Implement Measures to Manage Stray Dog Issues

Municipal corporations in Maharashtra are implementing new measures to address stray dog-related issues. Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has appointed coordinators for eight zones to decentralize complaint resolution, aiming for faster responses and adherence to Animal Welfare Board of India guidelines. Meanwhile, Panvel Municipal Corporation has proposed establishing around 40 designated dog feeding centres to regulate feeding, improve hygiene, and reduce disputes between residents and animal lovers, balancing cleanliness with animal welfare.
