A study at Nagaland University's Lumami campus revealed a significant biodiversity hotspot, documenting 106 moth species in just three months. Researchers Keneisano Yhoshii and Lobeno Mozhui used light trapping to identify species, with 36 recorded for the first time in Nagaland. The findings, published in the Journal of Threatened Taxa, highlight the campus's ecological importance despite human activity and artificial lighting, with sensitive moth families dominating the population, suggesting strong surrounding ecological health.
