Gurugram's fire department has identified 861 high-rise buildings operating with expired fire no-objection certificates (NOCs) out of 2,249 inspected. These buildings have defunct fire safety systems, including extinguishers, alarms, and sprinklers. Notices have been issued to builders or RWAs to replace faulty equipment, with follow-up inspections planned. Fire safety equipment requires renewal every three years, and residents in some sectors have reported non-functional systems for years, despite past fire incidents.
