A female Royal Bengal tiger carcass was found on Sunday in the Kathpora area of Kaziranga National Park's Western Range, Assam. Preliminary post-mortem results indicate the death was caused by infighting, marking the third such tiger death in the park within five months. Forest officials noted that infighting is common among solitary tigers competing for territory. Kaziranga is estimated to have 148 Royal Bengal tigers as of last year.
