On January 30-31, Cayuga Medical Center in New York recorded its largest newborn, Shawn Jr., weighing 5.9 kg (13 pounds), nearly double the average infant weight. His mother, Terrica, noted he already fits clothes for three- to six-month-olds. On the same day, the hospital also welcomed Margot, a baby girl weighing 1.8 kg (4 pounds). Both families expressed gratitude for the care received, highlighting the diversity in newborn sizes and the special nature of these births.
