
A leopard entered a sweet shop in Nani Daman, Union Territory of Daman, prompting a nearly 10-hour rescue operation by forest and police officials. The animal was located on a third-floor staircase and remained aggressive, attempting to attack rescuers. A forest staff member sustained minor injuries but is stable. Assistance was sought from neighbouring Valsad forest department and a rapid response team from Dahanu, Maharashtra. The leopard was eventually tranquilised and secured in a trap cage. It had been sighted in urban areas over the previous two days.
