The Maharashtra government has agreed to relocate 50 leopards to the Reliance Foundation's Vantara wildlife rescue and conservation centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat, to enhance conservation efforts and address rising human-leopard conflicts in Maharashtra. The move follows inspections and approvals from the Central Zoo Authority, with an initial batch of around 20 leopards expected to be transferred soon. The agreement also includes staff training and technical support, with further relocations planned after reviewing the first phase.
