Charnock Hospital inaugurated a 250-bed super speciality facility, Charnock Lohia Hospital, in a nearly 200-year-old Grade I heritage building in central Kolkata. The project, costing over Rs 250 crore and spanning nearly four bighas near Girish Park Metro Station, combines heritage architecture with modern medical infrastructure. It includes ICU beds, operation theatres, emergency and dialysis units, and aims to serve nearby areas lacking private super-specialty hospitals. The hospital expects to generate around 1,000 jobs, highlighting heritage conservation alongside healthcare development.
