Ahead of the Swachh Survekshan 2025-26 survey expected in March, Karnal and Rohtak municipal corporations in Haryana are intensifying efforts to improve cleanliness rankings. Karnal, ranked third nationally last year and first in Haryana in a recent surprise survey, focuses on waste segregation, public toilet maintenance, and mentoring smaller municipalities. Rohtak, which slipped to fifth in the state, is addressing previous shortcomings by training officials on new survey criteria and enforcing stricter cleanliness measures, aiming to enhance both state and national standings.
