The BCCI is considering restructuring its men's central contracts by removing the elite Grade A category, which currently includes Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja. This change, proposed by the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee, aims to simplify the contract system into three tiers: A, B, and C. With Kohli and Rohit now playing only ODIs after retiring from other formats, they are likely to be demoted to Grade B, while Bumrah and others active in multiple formats may retain the top tier. The final decision and payment adjustments will be discussed at the upcoming Apex Council meeting.
