Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar sustained a side strain during the first ODI against New Zealand and has been ruled out of the upcoming five-match T20I series starting January 21. His participation in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, beginning February 7, remains uncertain as he undergoes further assessment and rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. Delhi's Ayush Badoni has replaced Sundar in the ODI squad, with selectors yet to confirm his T20I replacement.
