
Following organizational issues at the recent India Open badminton tournament, including bird droppings, a monkey in the stands, and unhygienic conditions, the Sports Ministry has directed the Sports Authority of India (SAI) to develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). This aims to ensure better planning and athlete comfort for future events, especially with India's 2036 Olympic bid in focus. The ministry plans a more proactive role beyond financial support to prevent similar lapses and improve international event standards.
