The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has urged the government to disband a committee investigating alleged irregularities in the 2025 BCB election that reelected Aminul Islam as president. The committee, formed by the National Sports Council and led by retired judge AKM Asaduzzaman, was tasked with probing claims of manipulation and abuse of power. Former captain Tamim Iqbal, who withdrew from the election citing concerns, had requested an independent review. The BCB warned that government involvement could prompt the International Cricket Council to view it as interference, risking suspension.
