
Indian cricketer R Ashwin has suggested the ICC reconsider its tournament scheduling, citing an "overkill" of marquee events like World Cups and Champions Trophies held annually for revenue. He proposed following FIFA's model of holding the World Cup every four years to increase its value and suggested that ODI cricket could be revived by limiting it to a quadrennial World Cup, alongside T20 leagues, to prevent its perceived "slow death".
