Sri Lanka's Viran Chamuditha set a new U19 World Cup record by scoring 192 runs against Japan in the 2026 tournament, surpassing the previous highest score of 191 by Hasitha Boyagoda in 2018. Chamuditha's innings included 26 fours and one six, achieved at a strike rate of 134.27. Alongside Dimantha Mahavithana, he also contributed to the highest partnership in U19 World Cup history, helping Sri Lanka post 387 for four in their opening match.
