Despite strong performances in 2025, several top Indian shooters and boxers have been surprisingly excluded from the updated Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) lists. Notably, 19-year-old pistol shooter Suruchi Phogat, who achieved world No.1 ranking and multiple World Cup titles, and pistol shooter Samrat Rana, a World Championship gold medalist, are not included. Similarly, women's boxing world champions Minakshi Hooda and Jaismine Lamboria's achievements have not resulted in their inclusion or upgrade within the TOPS program, which provides financial and holistic support to athletes.
