Bengal Coach Appeals to Chief Minister for Cricketer's Kidney Transplant Support

Bengal coach and former cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla has appealed to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for assistance in funding a kidney transplant for Akash Biswas, a leg-spinner from Kalighat Sporting Club whose kidneys have failed. While Akash's mother is a compatible donor, the family cannot afford the surgery's high cost. Shukla has previously provided financial aid and described Akash as a determined player. The Chief Minister's Office confirmed the appeal is under consideration.
