
Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has set a new record for the fastest first-class double century by a Pakistani batter, achieving the milestone in 177 balls. Playing for Sui Northern Gas against Sahar Associates in the President's Cup, Masood surpassed Inzamam-ul-Haq's 30-year-old record of 188 balls. Masood remained unbeaten on 212 at the close of the first day's play. The record for the fastest double hundred by a visiting batsman in Pakistan is held by India's Virender Sehwag.
