The BCCI is considering a revamp of its central contract system, proposing to eliminate the top-tier Grade A category. If approved, senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who now play only ODIs after retiring from Tests and T20Is, are expected to be moved to Grade B. The selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, has recommended this change, which will be discussed at the next Apex Council meeting. The revised structure would retain three categories—A, B, and C—with financial details yet to be finalized.
