Indian Grandmaster Arjun Erigaisi secured a bronze medal at the FIDE World Blitz Championships, adding to a bronze he won days earlier at the FIDE World Rapid Championship. Erigaisi's performance in the blitz event saw him reach the knockouts with 14.5 points. He is the second Indian male player, after Viswanathan Anand, to achieve a podium finish at the World Rapid Championship. Magnus Carlsen won the men's World Rapid title.
