Sofie Gierts, a former Belgian hockey player and coach with extensive experience in men's and women's hockey, has joined the Hockey India League as the chief coach for the Delhi SG Pipers' women's team. Gierts expressed her desire to contribute to women in sports, particularly in India, citing the immense potential she observed during a previous visit. She aims to invest in and elevate women's sports, drawing from her own experiences and her efforts in founding a girls-only football club in Belgium.
