Carlos Alcaraz and longtime coach Juan Carlos Ferrero ended their seven-year partnership in December 2025, shortly before the 2026 season. Ferrero, who coached Alcaraz to six Grand Slam titles and 24 overall trophies, cited poor advice from Alcaraz's circle and contract issues as reasons for the split. Alcaraz acknowledged the change but noted most of his team remains, with Samuel Lopez promoted to chief coach. Ferrero has expressed openness to a future reunion but currently maintains distance.
