This achievement marks Erigaisi's second consecutive podium finish, having also secured a bronze at the FIDE World Rapid Chess Championship. Modi praised Erigaisi's skills, patience, and passion, stating his success will inspire Indian youth. Erigaisi's performance included a strong showing in the league stage, though he lost in the semifinals to Nodirbek Abdusattorov. He is now the second Indian male player, after Viswanathan Anand, to medal in both open categories of the World Rapid and Blitz championships.
