Amelia Valverde Appointed Mentor for India Women's Team Ahead of AFC Women's Asia Cup

India's women's football team is set to appoint Amelia Valverde, former head coach of Costa Rica's national team, as a mentor ahead of the 2026 AFC Women's Asia Cup in Australia. Valverde, with experience coaching Costa Rica in the 2015 and 2023 FIFA Women's World Cups, will join the Indian squad during their Turkey training camp. The appointment, approved by the All India Football Federation and supported by head coach Crispin Chhetri, aims to enhance India's performance and target qualification for the 2027 Women's World Cup through the Asian Cup and intercontinental playoffs.
