During the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final between Jammu and Kashmir and Karnataka, J K captain Paras Dogra headbutted Karnataka substitute fielder KV Aneesh in the 101st over after a verbal exchange. The incident prompted intervention from players and umpires, with Dogra apologising but Aneesh refusing to accept it. Senior Karnataka players Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul engaged in verbal exchanges with Dogra. Subsequently, a separate confrontation occurred between Karnataka pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak and J K batter Kanhaiya Wadhawan. Despite the tensions, Jammu and Kashmir posted a strong total, with Dogra scoring 70. The BCCI fined Dogra 50% of his match fee for the headbutt, highlighting concerns over conduct in the final.
