The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced plans to introduce central contracts for senior players and launch a scouting tournament for its eight-team T20 league to identify emerging talent. Additionally, an inter-college tournament named after former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar will be established to nurture young players. These initiatives aim to build a sustainable cricket ecosystem in Mumbai by providing clear pathways from college cricket to elite levels, enhancing player development and stability, according to MCA president Ajinkya Naik.
