Arjun Erigaisi secured a bronze medal at the FIDE World Rapid Championship in Doha, becoming the first Indian male player to achieve a podium finish since Viswanathan Anand. World Champion Magnus Carlsen won the gold medal. In the women's section, Koneru Humpy also earned a bronze. Erigaisi's performance also secured him a spot in the upcoming Total Chess World Championship Tour pilot tournament.
