The Indian women's cricket team has been nominated for the 2026 Laureus World Team of the Year Award following their maiden ICC Women's Cricket World Cup victory. They are the first women's cricket team to receive this nomination, recognized for their record-breaking successful run chase in the semi-final against Australia and their final win over South Africa. The team joins other prominent nominees and will learn the results at a gala event in Madrid on April 20. The BCCI awarded the squad Rs 51 crore in recognition of their achievement.
