AIFF Unveils 21-Year Governance Roadmap for Indian Football Leagues

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has developed a 21-year roadmap to govern and manage India's top football leagues, the Indian Super League (ISL) and I-League, inspired by best practices from leading global leagues such as the Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, A-League, and J1 League. The plan establishes a 22-member governing council and an 11-member management committee to oversee regulatory, operational, and commercial aspects. The governing council, including club owners, AIFF officials, commercial partners, and independent members, will meet annually, while the management committee, led by the AIFF secretary-general, will handle day-to-day operations and meet monthly. This governance structure aims to bring stability and professional administration to Indian football over the next two decades.
