A Sports Ministry Task Force, led by Abhinav Bindra, has rejected a proposal to designate the National Institute of Sports (NIS) in Patiala as a national academy for sports administrators. The task force cited concerns that such exclusivity would be restrictive, unsustainable, and could limit opportunities for graduates from other credible institutions, potentially replicating imbalances seen in sports coaching.
